A community pantry serving Northwest Colorado Springs with love, dignity, and hope
A grassroots initiative born from compassion and community care
Whenever you can get here! No appointments, no questions asked. The pantry is always available when you need it.
Everyone deserves access to nutritious food. If you can make it here, you can have anything in the pantry.
Created by K Harris from repurposed materials, this pantry represents what neighbors can do for each other.
When headlines warned that federal food assistance programs might face funding shortages, K Harris didn't wait to see what would happen. Having experienced food insecurity firsthand, she knew the struggle of having "$40 in the bank for another week and a half for everything."
Within a week of sharing the idea with her husband, The Neighbor's Pantry was built using repurposed materials they had at home - a record cabinet, scrap wood, and spare hinges. What started as one family's response to potential SNAP benefit cuts has become a beacon of hope for the entire community.
"This felt like an easy real way to do something immediately. If you have a need and there's no other way for you to get it filled, we will give you what we have." - K Harris, Founder

Food insecurity is a real challenge facing many Colorado families. Here's what the data tells us:
Children are especially vulnerable: In fiscal year 2023, children accounted for 39 percent of all SNAP participants, highlighting the critical need for food assistance programs in supporting families and ensuring children have access to nutritious meals.
